He shared that while each competition poses unique challenges, there are common hurdles that most participants face – such as finding a suitable idea, time pressure, limited resources, and technical issues during product development. Above all, maintaining team spirit and personal motivation is key to overcoming these difficulties, especially in tech competitions.
Truong DN emphasized that the success of a product in such contests doesn’t rely solely on creativity. A winning idea must meet competition criteria such as having a clear business model, high feasibility, and most importantly, solving real user problems. “A successful product isn’t just a good idea – it must be a practical solution that brings real value to the community.”
Speaking about Fabbi Ideathon 2024, Truong DN described it not merely as a tech idea competition, but as a platform for connection, learning, and self-development for Fabbiers. He believes the competition helps cultivate a culture of innovation and lays a crucial foundation for Fabbi’s sustainable growth in the future.
Drawing from his experience, he highlighted several key takeaways – most notably, the importance of ensuring a solid Minimum Viable Product (MVP). Even a slide deck must clearly present the core functions to convince the judges. “Don’t forget to leverage available resources like open-source tools, libraries, or cloud services – they can significantly save time and boost development efficiency,” he advised. He also stressed the importance of well-prepared materials, including product descriptions, visuals, videos, and demo links (if available), as essential components of a professional submission.
